Florida offers various specialty license plates or tags. These plates carry unique designs and are created to honor the plate holder and/or benefit a specific organization.
The annual use fee ranges from $15.00-$25.00 depending on the license plate or tag selected. This fee is charged each year in addition to the registration renewal fee and goes to the sponsoring organization of the license plate.
Specialty plates may be obtained at any Tax Collector’s Service Center or authorized tag agency. For Service Center and approved tag agency locations, click here.
Note: Currently, appointments and extended business hours for vehicle registration and title services are only available at First Lakeland Tag Agency. Payments accepted at this location include Cash, Check, and Debit Cards (Credit Cards are not Accepted at this Location).

Personalized license plates or tags may be ordered at any Tax Collector’s Service Centers (for location information, click here). (Personalized plates are not available online.)
Application for the initial personalized plate may be made any time; however, the vehicle must have a current Florida license plate and registration at the time of application.
Upon submitting a completed initial application form (HSMV 83043), a $28.00 plate fee and a $15.00 personalization fee is charged in addition to any other applicable fees.
The annual renewal of a personalized plate will include the $15.00 personalized fee.

Once the personalized license plate has been manufactured, it will be shipped to Tax Collector’s Office for Polk County and then mailed to the motor vehicle owner (motor vehicle owner’s may also arrange for pick-up).
